Leaving Lunenburg Today

800x600-zendog_500x375.shkl Last night Pamela and I were invited to the Men's Wine Night at Nik Mills' home. After two weeks of visiting with family and friends, this evening was a wonderful send off. We have enjoyed numerous meals and visits with our friends from Heckman's Island, Mahone Bay, Kingsburg, and locally around the town of Lunenburg. Pamela found two boat builders who were gracious enough to share their love and knowledge of boat building to assist us in our screenplays. We have risen each morning to view the harbor from our bedroom window at Lunenburg Arms Hotel. The fleet is in and we Met Tom Gallant doing the last minute outfitting of Avenger, his lovely schooner, waiting for a weather window to head south for the winter. We warmed ourselves with great coffee, soup and biscuits from our favorite cafe, The Biscuit Eater in Mahone Bay. I practiced Aikido with Sensei Jamie Constable and old mat buddies at the dojo in Lunenburg. After everything our visit was too short and we look forward to our return the last week of July to park the bus on the hill and prepare for the Folk Harbour Music Festival. Tonight we look forward to diner with Jim and Nancy at Opa in Halifax and then an early flight to Dallas to pick up the bus and start heading to Florida, by way of Natchez, Memphis, Nashville, and Knoxville. A visit with my family over the holidays in south Georgia then Florida. Thank you everyone for a great time together. If we missed connecting with you, we hope to see you on our return. -L
