Fashion and Design

Our dear friend Dennis Cigler, the handsome one with scarf, teaches at an Arts Prep School In Rome, Italy. The video is of his students preparing for the IB Visual Arts Exams.

We visit with Dennis whenever we are in Rome, see here and here. Each year he helps his students prepare for these important exams and helps to make it a magical experience.

Congratulations, dear friend.

11 May 2012

We arrived in Rome around 10 am after an uneventful flight from Toronto. Our B&B was a lovely 3rd floor room only a few blocks from Piazza Navona. We walked to the Piazza and then stopped at a Sicilian restaurant for rissoto. Strolled by the Tiber River. Visited the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Ate roasted chestnuts from a street vendor. And savoured gelato.

Rome is special in so many ways, but our most special treat was dinner again at Palmiro Reno's restaurant Tucci with our dear friend Dennis Cigler. Dennis is an amazing artist and teacher who has lived in Rome for over forty years. Tennessee Williams gave him his Fiat Spider when he left Rome to return to America. Dennis taught English to Fellini and Bernardo Bertolucchi, among others. We always enjoy our visits with him and Reno fills the table with unique dishes of his own creation.

Bon Voyage... Writing the Waves

April 10, 2010 - Atlantic Ocean We leave today for a Trans-Atlantic cruise aboard the Navigator of the Seas on a voyage to the Canary Islands, Barcelona, Nice, Florence, and Rome.

While at sea we will participate in Cynthia Whitcomb's screenwriting workshop. We have seen Cynthia before at the Screenwriting Expo in LA and the Screenwriting Conference in Santa Fe.

We have rented an apartment in Rome and look forward to several days of touring this grand city with our friend and artist, Dennis Cigler. Dennis heads the art department at one of Rome's most prestigious schools. In his spare time he guides couples on exclusive private tours of the city, in the style of the Grand Tours of the nineteenth century.

We look forward to visiting so many great places and hope to capture some great images and more stories. -L
